In my neighbourhood, there is no access to fresh food, other than the large supermarkets. A large suburb of Halifax, Spryfield continues to be a bedroom community. Many folks commute daily onto the peninsula. Others are retired and living on a fixed income. There is little opportunity to gather, for gathering's sake. Farmers' markets are notoriously fun places to gather, have coffee, buy treats, food and network.
With the support of the Community Development Officer, I decided to start a market. Here is your invitation to join us April 17, 2016. Meet your Makers! Launch! Spryfield and District Community Market is born.
